What is Tempora Romae?
A Roman calendar for iPhone and Apple Watch. It shows today's date the way Rome kept it — the Kalendae, Nonae and Idus with the full backward count — along with temporal hours, the day's character, A.U.C. year numbering and Roman holidays.
What are temporal hours?
Rome split daylight into twelve horae, however long or short the day. A summer hour ran well past sixty minutes; a winter one shrank below forty. The app computes each hour from the true sunrise and sunset at your location.
Does it need my location?
Only to compute local sunrise and sunset for the temporal hours, and it stays entirely on your device. You can also use the app without location access by choosing a place yourself. See the privacy policy for details.

The free app shows your Roman date every day. Tempora Romae Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks temporal hours and sundial, A.U.C. year numbering, the Julian calendar mode, day classification, Roman holidays and Apple Watch complications.
