Terms of Service for Gledly

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Gledly ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please don't use our Service.

2. What is Gledly?

Gledly is a platform for discovering and sharing information about restaurants, bars, and other venues. You can:

• Track places you love and want to visit
• Share experiences with friends
• Contribute information about venues
• Build your personal map of favorite spots

This is a personal project maintained on a best-effort basis.

3. User Accounts

To use Gledly, you need to:

• Provide a valid email address
• Choose a unique username (starting with a dot)
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Content Ownership and Usage Rights

4.1 Your Content Remains Yours

You retain all rights to content you create, including:

• Reviews and ratings
• Photos you upload (place images, food photos, avatar, etc.)
• Place descriptions and information
• Personal notes and comments

4.2 License to Gledly

By posting content, you grant Gledly a limited license to:

• Display your content within the Gledly platform
• Share it according to your privacy settings
• Store and backup your content
• Make technical modifications necessary for display (e.g., resizing images, creating thumbnails)

This license does NOT include the right to:

• Sell your content to third parties
• Use your images outside of Gledly without your consent
• Use your content for advertising without permission
• Transfer image ownership to any third party

4.3 AI and Machine Learning Usage

4.3.1 How Gledly May Use AI

Gledly may use AI and machine learning solely to improve your experience within the platform, such as:

• Improving search and discovery features
• Providing personalized recommendations
• Detecting spam or inappropriate content
• Enhancing venue categorization
• Analyzing aggregated, anonymous usage patterns

Important: Any AI features will be designed to benefit Gledly users directly. We will never sell AI models trained on your data or provide them to third parties.

4.3.2 Prohibited External Use

Third parties may NOT use Gledly content for:

• Training external AI or machine learning models
• Data mining or scraping
• Creating derivative datasets
• Building competing services
• Commercial AI training purposes

This prohibition is absolute and applies to all external parties, including AI companies, researchers, and other platforms.

5. Image Usage Guidelines

When uploading images to Gledly:

• You must own the rights to the images or have permission to share them
• Images should be relevant to the place or experience you're sharing
• No inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Respect people's privacy - avoid uploading photos of others without consent
• You can control visibility (private or public) for each image

Note: Images you mark as public may be visible to all Gledly users visiting that place's page.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

• Scrape or copy content from Gledly for use in other services
• Download or harvest images uploaded by other users
• Use automated tools to extract data from Gledly
• Misrepresent venue information or post false reviews
• Upload images that:
  • You don't have rights to share
  • Contain inappropriate or offensive content
  • Violate others' privacy
  • Are unrelated to the place or misleading
• Harass other users or venue owners
• Post content that is:
  • Illegal, harmful, or threatening
  • Defamatory or invasive of privacy
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights
  • Spam or unauthorized advertising
• Attempt to:
  • Hack or disrupt the service
  • Bypass security measures
  • Access other users' accounts

7. Community Guidelines

Gledly is built on trust and respect. When contributing:

• Be honest and fair in your reviews
• Respect venue owners and other users
• Keep private information private
• Report inappropriate content
• Help maintain accurate information

8. Intellectual Property

The Gledly platform itself (design, features, code) is protected by copyright and belongs to the project creator. Venue information compiled by users collectively forms a community resource that should benefit all Gledly users, not be exploited by others.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important. We:

• Only collect necessary information
• Never sell your personal data
• Use encryption and security best practices
• Comply with GDPR and Norwegian privacy laws

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 Service Availability

Gledly is provided "as is" and "as available". As a personal project, we cannot guarantee:

• Continuous uptime or availability
• Data accuracy or completeness
• Feature stability or long-term support
• Freedom from errors or bugs

10.2 Venue Information

Gledly relies on user contributions. We do not guarantee that venue information is accurate, current, or complete. Always verify important details (hours, prices, etc.) before visiting.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian and EU law, Gledly and its creator are not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages
• Lost profits or opportunities
• Inaccurate venue information
• Actions of other users

11. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination:

• Your personal data will be deleted (see Privacy Policy)
• Your public contributions may be retained anonymously
• You lose access to your content and connections

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes should first be resolved through friendly communication at the email below.
